Education & Community Service She began her studies at NC A&T State University earning a political science degree in 2008 and moved on to NCCU School of Law graduating in 2013. Attorney Watkins is a member of the Durham Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. where she served as the public relations chair. She has also served as the social media chair for The Committee to Elect Kevin E. Jones who was elected Durham County District Court Judge in 2022. She now works with the NC Black Alliance and the NC Black Legal Network to fight against voter suppression. Attorney Watkins serves as the Director of the NC Legislative Black Caucus where she works with local law makers in passing legislation to help black and brown communities obtain much needed resources.
